( KRON ) — A car was submerged in the water near the Dumbarton Bridge Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 10:52 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The vehicle was seen submerged up to its door handles on the righthand side of the bridge, according to an official traffic log. A door of the vehicle was seen open and four people successfully got out of the vehicle.

According to the Fremont Police Department, the car lost control and ended up going into the water. The driver and passenger managed to get out of the vehicle and were not injured, police said.
The incident is under investigation and the cause of the crash is not yet known. Police said weather could be a possible factor.
As a result of the incident, the CHP is reporting a traffic hazard on Highway 84 eastbound, west of the Dumbarton Bridge. The right lane is blocked, according to the CHP, and delays are expected.
