Driver escapes serious injury, dog dies in rollover crash on remote California road

The Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) responded to an emergency call reporting a vehicle rollover in Palomares Canyon on January 27, 2024. The incident unfolded, prompting a coordinated effort from ACFD, Falck Ambulance, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Emergency personnel raced to the scene to address the aftermath of the rollover. Upon arrival, responders found a vehicle overturned in Palomares Canyon, highlighting the challenges of the terrain in this picturesque but potentially hazardous area.

The driver, fortunately, managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle without assistance. However, tragically, the dog that accompanied them did not survive the rollover, firefighters said.
