(KRON) — Two Los Altos residents who were found dead inside a house earlier this month were identified on Monday.
A 74-year-old man, Steven Hooper, and a 66-year-old woman, Chris Cryer, were discovered to be deceased when police officers conducted a welfare check on the afternoon of January 16, according to the Los Altos Police Department.
Mystery remains around Hooper’s and Cryer’s cause of death. LAPD said on Monday that “the cause of death is still being investigated, pending toxicology reports.”
Hooper and Cryer died “shortly before” their bodies were found, LAPD wrote.

Police and the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office are still investigating the case. Officials have not said whether foul play was a factor.
