Traffic stop for tinted front window leads to major crime breakthrough on California Highway

A routine traffic stop for tinted front windows turned into a successful recovery operation for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Boulder Creek today.

A vigilant new CHP officer observed a Black Dodge pickup with tinted front windows and decided to make an enforcement stop on the vehicle, according to the agency.

Little did they know, this traffic stop would unveil a stolen trailer, the CHP said.

Upon further questioning and investigation, the CHP officer discovered that the trailer being towed by the pickup had been reported stolen. Acting swiftly, the driver was placed under arrest for being in possession of a stolen vehicle, the CHP stated.

This recent incident marks the second time in the past seven days that this specific new CHP officer has successfully recovered a stolen vehicle. The diligence and keen observation skills exhibited by the officer have proven instrumental in returning stolen property to its rightful owners.
