No. 3 Hawaii men’s volleyball rallies past No. 5 Stanford

In its biggest test of the 2024 season to date, the No. 3 University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team rallied over No. 5 Stanford 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-12 on Wednesday night at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawaii improved to 9-1 overall, while Stanford dropped to 7-2.

Stanford competed without its top player in Will Rottman, who did not make the trip due to a lower body injury. Despite his absence, the Cardinal took the first set after outhitting the ‘Bows .355-.185.

Alaka’i Todd had a match-high 17 kills with nine digs for UH, while Spyros Chakas added 15 kills and eight digs. Meanwhile, Tread Rosenthal passed out a match-high 39 assists with two service aces.

Kevin Lamp and Moses Wagner each had nine kills for Stanford, while Nathan Lietzke had 32 assists, three digs and a match-high three aces.

The Rainbow Warriors and Cardinal will meet again on Friday at 7 p.m.
