Four juveniles, all under 16, arrested in connection with California postal worker robberies

Fremont Police swiftly responded to and resolved a series of robberies involving United States Postal Service (USPS) Postal Workers, culminating in the arrest of four juvenile suspects on charges related to the incidents.

On February 7, 2024, around 11:30 a.m., officers received a report of a robbery of a USPS Postal Worker in the vicinity of 3rd Street, police said.

The four suspects, in a targeted assault, forcibly took the mail truck keys before fleeing in a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee. A similar event unfolded the day prior on Martha Ave, where two suspects demanded the mail key but left empty-handed, escaping in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, police added.

Fortunately, the postal workers involved were unharmed during both incidents.

Community camera networks captured images of the suspect vehicle, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, leaving the scenes of both robberies, aiding law enforcement in their subsequent actions.

Approximately an hour after the second robbery, members of the Fremont Crime Reduction Unit spotted the stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee near Mowry Ave and Fremont Blvd. In a coordinated effort, additional officers attempted a traffic stop, police said.

The suspects, however, evaded and initiated a vehicle pursuit. After covering approximately two miles, the suspects came to a stop, leading to the safe apprehension of all four occupants without any reported injuries, police added.
