( KRON ) – The San Jose Police Department is investigating a major injury vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, the department said. The crash happened around 2:09 p.m. in the area of Saratoga Avenue and Belvedere Drive.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim later died, marking the eighth fatal collision and eighth traffic death of 2024 in San Jose.

As of 3 p.m., lanes of southbound Saratoga from Blackford to Belvedere Drive are closed. The San Jose Police Department advises drivers to cautiously drive or use alternate routes.
