(KRON) — A woman was walking along a Saratoga Avenue sidewalk in San Jose when a vehicle struck her Saturday afternoon, police said. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and she died at a nearby hospital.
According to police, a Volkswagen utility vehicle was backing out of a driveway in reverse when it collided into the woman at 2:09 p.m. The utility vehicle driver remained at the accident scene and cooperated with police, the San Jose Police Department said.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after the coroner notifies her family.
