Four found dead inside home in California suburb: A man, woman, and two young children, police say

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, San Mateo Police officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Alameda de las Pulgas on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 9:13 a.m., following a report of a welfare check.

Upon entering the residence, officers discovered a grim scene – one adult male, one adult female, and two children with apparent signs of death, police said.

The details surrounding the incident are still unfolding, but at this time, authorities believe it to be an isolated event, assuring there is no danger to the public, police said.

To facilitate the investigation, road closures have been implemented. As of now, northbound Alameda de las Pulgas is closed at 42nd Ave., southbound Alameda de las Pulgas is closed at Fernwood St., and westbound 41st Ave to Kelton Ct. These closures aim to assist law enforcement in conducting a thorough inquiry.

Residents and commuters are advised to avoid the area to allow authorities the space to carry out their investigation without disruption.
