SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. – A red flag warning has been issued for the Santa Cruz mountains until Friday due to the combination of the heat and extremely dry vegetation. Lamont Bain, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says the dryness of the vegetation is approaching uncharted territory in the area.
