Suspect Arraigned in California’s Park Fire Case

Ronnie Dean Stout II, accused of starting the Park Fire in Northern California, appeared in court for his arraignment on Thursday. Stout did not enter a plea as the judge granted his attorney more time to review reports. He faces one felony count of arson for allegedly pushing a burning car down a gully, igniting the historic blaze. Stout’s attorney claims it was an accident. If convicted, Stout could face 25 years to life in prison. The Park Fire has burned over 400,000 acres and is 22% contained as of Thursday evening, according to CAL Fire.
