Emerald High School opens its $347 million campus

( KRON ) – The City of Dublin has the newest high school in Alameda County. Emerald High School commences classes at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to Emerald High School’s spokesperson, the new comprehensive high school has cost $347 million to build.

According to Emerald High School, 42 out of the anticipated 80 classrooms are completed.

The school has a 2,400-seat and 31,898-square-foot gym for the athletic rooms. The locker rooms have a physical therapy lab and a weight and conditioning room.

Teacher shortages improve, but not everywhere

For sports, Emerald High School has an eight-lane track, a full football/soccer/lacrosse field, 3,885 bleacher seats, and eight tennis courts.

According to a spokesperson for Emerald High School, the school will offer academic programs such as biomedical sciences, computer science and engineering through a partnership with the Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program.

The high school will also partner with the Construction Trades Workforce Initiative. For students who need tutoring, Emerald has an “ACCESS” Center that allows tutoring after school and throughout the day.
