East Bay pair allegedly steal more than $3K in merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods

( KRON ) — Two East Bay residents were arrested Tuesday in connection to two retail thefts from Dick’s Sporting Goods locations in Fairfield and Pleasanton, according to the Fairfield Police Department. A total of approximately $3,100 of stolen merchandise was recovered.

Police officers responded to the Fairfield Dick’s Sporting Goods location at 4:24 p.m. after reports of a theft in progress. Store management told police that two suspects filled a shopping cart with merchandise and attempted to leave without paying.

Arriving officers arrested the two suspected shoplifters as they walked out of the store, police said. The suspects were identified as 20-year-old DeMiracle Card and 25-year-old Anthony Bowie.

Approximately $1,700 worth of stolen merchandise from the Fairfield store was recovered, FPD said. Inside the pair’s vehicle, police said another $1,400 worth of stolen merchandise from the Pleasanton store was located.
