( KRON ) — The 14-year-old boy killed in Monday’s Highway 85 crash in San Jose has been identified by the County of Santa Clara Medical Examiner/Coroner. He was identified as San Jose resident Charlie George Olsen.
Charlie was with his mother, 47-year-old San Jose woman Rebecca Olsen, inside their Tesla Model Y when it was hit by a wrong-way truck driver . Photos of Charlie and Rebecca (below) were sent by Cameron Olsen, the widower of Rebecca and the father of Charlie.
“Losing a child is the ultimate nightmare for a parent,” Cameron wrote in an email statement to KRON4, which was also posted on Reddit. “This week has been a roller coaster of both functional and emotional elements. It feels like it has been weeks and I know the next few months will be hell.
“A lot of people have expressed anger at the situation – I’m not at anger situation yet and I may never get there. It feels unfair, yes. I want my son back beyond comprehension.”
