Motorcyclist dies in San Jose after crashing with semi-truck, roads closed

SAN JOSE, Calif. ( KRON ) — A person riding their motorcycle died after colliding with a semi-truck in San Jose on Thursday afternoon.

Police received calls of a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck in the 1100 block of Old Bayshore Highway just before 12:30 p.m.

San Jose police responded and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The truck driver, according to SJPD, remained at the scene after the crash and “is cooperating with the investigation.”

The San Jose Police Department said both directions of Old Bayshore Highway from 10th Street to Gish Road will be closed until further notice.

“Traffic in the area will be severely impacted for a significant amount of time,” SJPD said.
