( KRON ) — Officers responded to a hit-and-run Friday morning in Morgan Hill, the Morgan Hill Police Department said. The crash happened near the intersection of Malaga Drive and Majorca Drive.
The driver of the suspect vehicle ran away from the scene and broke into a neighborhood resident’s home — prompting the homeowner to flee her home. As a precaution, Nordstrom Elementary School across the street was temporarily locked down.
Morgan Hill police, along with a SWAT team, surrounded the home and barricaded the suspect, authorities said. The suspect was eventually arrested and is facing numerous charges.

Paramedics responded to the scene and the hit-and-run victim was seen on a stretcher. At this time, police did not release the condition of the victim.
