San José’s Valley Medical Center entrance has unveiled a new street sign reading Jeffrey V. Smith Way in tribute to former County Executive Jeff Smith, who retired in July 2023. The dedication ceremony took place last Wednesday, celebrating Smith’s contributions to diverse aspects of county management, including the county’s budget and workforce growth and the integration of equity in County services, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the County of Santa Clara.
