Pedestrian killed in San Jose hit-and-run crash

( KRON ) — A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car in San Jose on Monday, the San Jose Police Department said. The driver fled the scene after the crash.

The crash happened in the area of Bird Avenue and Coe Avenue just before 8:45 p.m.

The pedestrian, an adult male, was hospitalized in critical condition and died at the hospital.

Northbound Bird Avenue between Coe Avenue and Fuller Avenue will be closed for “a significant amount of time,” SJPD said. Drivers are advised to find alternate routes.

SJPD has not announced an arrest.
