The San Jose State Spartans and the South Florida Bulls might be the two luckiest teams in college football. Why? Because they get to spend Christmas in Hawaii as this year’s competitors in the Hawaii Bowl.
That said, there’s an added level of motivation for San Jose State (7-5). Spartans ‘ head coach Ken Niumataolo is a Hawaii native and will want to show out in his home state. However, doing so may be more difficult than expected. The South Florida Bulls (6-6) have a history of doing well in bowl games, having won three of their last four including a 45-0 trouncing of Syracuse in the Boca Raton Bowl last year.
