( KRON ) — A preliminary 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck the East Bay late Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was 4.5 miles east of Walnut Creek and 3.8 miles southwest of Clayton.
The tremblor occurred at 11:36 p.m., USGS said. People reported feeling the light shaking across Contra Costa and Alameda counties, according to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” survey .
There were no initial reports of damages or injuries.
