( KRON ) — A Seattle-bound Alaska Airlines flight that took off from San Jose Mineta International Airport Wednesday morning was forced to turn back to San Jose. According to flight tracking website FlightAware , the flight took off around 10:13 a.m. and landed back at SJC about 40 minutes later.

An Alaska Airlines spokesperson told KRON4.com that the plane returned to SJC without incident following a mechanical issue indication in the flight deck.
“Pilots followed appropriate procedures and requested a priority landing,” the spokesperson said.
Alaska Airlines maintenance teams evaluated the aircraft and were able to repair the issue.
“Our pilots are trained for situations like this and we thank them for their professionalism in handling the situation,” the airline said. “We apologize to our guests for the delay, and we will get them on their way to Seattle shortly.”
According to the Alaska Airlines website, the flight, which was originally scheduled to take off at 10:01 a.m. and land at 12:30 p.m., has been rescheduled to take off at 12 p.m. and land at 2:45 p.m.
