Year of the Snake to be celebrated at Tully Community Branch Library on January 17

San Jose’s Tully Community Branch Library will celebrate its 20th anniversary on January 17. Festivities will take place from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Included will be a celebration of the Lunar New Year, welcoming in the Year of the Snake. Admission is free.

A lion dance will be performed by the Evergreen Wushu martial arts school. City Councilmember Bien Doan and City Librarian Jill Bourne will speak. Refreshments and goodie bags will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The library is located on 880 Tully Road.

The event is being sponsored by the Friends of the Tully Community Branch Library.

The Year of the Snake, beginning on January 29, is likely to be “a year of tumultuous luck and troubled relationships,” according to the South China Morning Post.
