Interfaith group seeks volunteers to make sack lunches for needy on January 23

Abrahamic Alliance International is looking for volunteers from the Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities to make sack lunches at Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen in San Jose on January 23. The volunteer work will be done at 48A Race Street from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers can register online.

Volunteers will make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and place them into sack lunches for the homeless. The sack lunches will be given out at a Goodwill soup kitchen and a high school student assistance program.

Formed in April 2008, Abrahamic Alliance International sees itself rooted in “a simple dream that compassionate collaboration between Jews, Christians, and Muslims can build lasting bridges of understanding and respect between our communities.” It organizes other volunteer activites. Those interested can register at Eventbrite.com.

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen has additional volunteer opportunities.
