Bay Area residents on Wednesday will see the warmest day of the week, reaching past 80 degrees in areas like Concord and San Jose. But the sunnier weather comes with a minor heat risk, wind and even thunderstorms, the National Weather Service warned.
The North Bay faces a slim, 10-15% chance of thunderstorms, as well as the interior areas of Monterey and San Benito counties. Potential hazards to look out for are lightning, small hail and gusty winds. Elsewhere, nice weather reigns. Cities like San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Salinas will have temperatures hovering in the mid-60s. Meanwhile, Oakland, San Mateo and San Rafael will stay in the 70s on Wednesday.
The minor heat risk will remain in place on Thursday, except in San Francisco and on the Peninsula.
