Caltrain Announces Service Adjustments at Tamien Station in San Jose for Maintenance Work on May 16-17

Starting at 9 PM on Friday and lasting until noon on Saturday, Tamien Station in San Jose will see reduced service as crews tackle the nitty-gritty of maintenance work just north of the station. Caltrain reports that these repairs are vital for continuing smooth service down the line.

Even though northbound travelers departing from San Jose Diridon Station won’t be directly impacted, checking the modified schedule before you head out might save you from an unexpected delay, especially if you’re planning to catch a Giants game on Friday night. To bridge the gap, a free bus service provided by VTA will shuttle passengers between San Jose Diridon and Tamien Stations, ensuring that the inconvenience is minimized during the repair period.

The evening of Friday will see a slight shift in origin for northbound trains 169 and 173, with them now kicking off their journeys from Diridon Station, not Tamien. Similarly, southbound adventurers on trains 160, 164, 168, 172, and 176 will find their trips winding down at Diridon Station. The pattern holds into Saturday morning, as northbound trains 601, 605, 609, 613, 617, and 621 will all start at Diridon, with southbound trains 602, 606, and 610 concluding their services there…
