San Jose Security Company Owner Sentenced for $3.4 Million Workers’ Comp Fraud

Raul Chavez, 40, the proprietor of Tactical Operations Protective Services, has been sentenced following a revealing investigation by the California Department of Insurance. Chavez’s scheme involved a six-year-long deceit where he underreported payroll, managing to avoid shelling out for workers’ compensation insurance premiums of $3.4 million.

Guilty of felony premium fraud, Chavez now faces 180 days in county jail and two years riding the waves of probation, according to a recent release from the California Department of Insurance.
