The tranquility of Castro Valley Boulevard was disrupted last month when gunfire was exchanged between the occupants of two vehicles. Following a comprehensive investigation, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection to the April 17 shooting. According to a social media post from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initially responded to reports of the shooting at approximately 5:00 PM but found neither the vehicles nor the victims upon arrival.
The Sheriff’s office states that their Gang Suppression Unit was able to locate the victim, who had left the scene, and piece together the events. The reported victim had fired a CO2-powered BB gun at another vehicle, prompting the driver of that vehicle, known to the victim, to return fire with a firearm. In a dramatic escalation of what began with a mere BB gun confrontation, multiple live rounds ended up being exchanged in broad daylight.
