SAN DIEGO — A 2022 decision from California Governor Gavin Newsom to reverse parole for former skateboarding icon, Mark ‘Gator’ Rogowski, for the brutal 1991 rape and murder of Jessica Bergsten in Carlsbad will stand, ruled a California Appellate Court last week.
In a May 22 ruling, an appellate panel refused to overturn Governor Newsom’s parole reversal, meaning the 1980s skateboard star will not be released from prison without a new parole hearing.
