Two California men are lucky to be alive after being nearly swept away by the swift South Fork Carson River in Alpine County, California.

They were on an off-road expedition, attempting to cross the river to see adjacent hot springs. As the men attempted to drive across the river, the Jeep Wrangler became submerged and began to move in rising waters.

As 40-degree water entered the cabin, the men went through the windows and sat on the roof. They had no mobile coverage and relied on a Starlink satellite to contact for assistance…
