The San José Police Department, through diligent investigation, apprehended 35-year-old suspect Frank Catanzaro for running a firearms manufacturing operation out of his San José residence. Catanzaro, now facing charges, is believed to be involved in the production and trafficking of illegal “ghost guns,” which are firearms with no serial numbers, according to an official statement released by the San José Police Department.
An anonymous tip received earlier this year via Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers set the stage for the San José Police Department GHOST team to unravel this operation, and after an arrest warrant and a search of Catanzaro’s abode on Cherry Avenue the discovery of multiple Privately Made Firearms, a pistol with a silencer, ammunition, alongside three 3D printers and over 40 spools of filament suggested a deep-running gun manufacturing setup within the domestic bounds of the city…
