Former Santa Clara County Fair Director Obdulia Banuelos-Esparza has been convicted of charges in a kickback scheme, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
The DA said an investigation uncovered that Banuelos-Esparza had threatened to terminate the company’s contract to provide security services for the fairgrounds unless the company gave her a cut of the payments.
