San Jose police arrest 2 suspects in May 2 stabbing

Two men have been arrested in connection with a brutal stabbing that left a man unconscious and critically injured in San Jose in early May, police said.

Cesar Castellanos, 42, of Oakland and David Ramirez, 45, of Salinas were arrested at their homes on July 24 and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon, the San Jose Police Department said Wednesday.

The arrests stem from May 2 around 11:45 p.m., when multiple suspects allegedly assaulted a man in the 1000 block of North Fourth Street. Police said the victim was left unconscious at the scene with life-threatening injuries, including multiple stab wounds.

Witnesses sent the victim to a hospital, where police were later called at 1:13 a.m. on May 3. The suspects had already fled the scene before officers arrived, according to police…
