San Joaquin woman sentenced to five years in prison for illegal trafficking of firearms

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A San Joaquin County woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for illegal firearms trafficking.

34-year-old Alejandra Susana Castillo of Tracy was handed down the sentence from U.S. District Judge Dena Coggins, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Kimberly A. Sanchez.

Court documents revealed that between Aug. 22, 2023, and Aug. 27, 2024, Castillo and a partner trafficked firearms by purchasing them in Nevada and selling them illegally in California. Castillo’s partner, a convicted felon, could not purchase firearms himself, so he collaborated with Castillo for the transactions…
