San Jose police investigating early morning homicide near elementary school Monday

(KRON) — The San Jose Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide that occurred just a few minutes away from a nearby elementary school. According to SJPD, officers responded at around 2:33 a.m. Monday on a report of a fight in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Story Road.

Arriving at the scene, officers found a man suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim, police said, was not conscious nor breathing. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

SJPD’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene, which was just a three-minute drive away from nearby Sylvia Cassell Elementary School, and took over the investigation. Police said the identity of the victim would be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.

No arrest has been made at this time and police declined to release any information on potential suspects.
