More massive wildfires have hit the Southern California region this week.
The Gifford fire was reported to have burned 100,000 acres in San Luis Opisbo County, with more than 870 remote homes and other structures are reported to be threatened. The Canyon brush fire grew to an estimated 5,000 acres within hours on Thursday (August 7), Ventura County Fire Department spokesperson Andrew Dowd confirmed via the Los Angeles Times.
