Bay Area temperatures could hit 102 degrees as heat risk climbs this week

Temperatures across the Bay Area are projected to climb this week, with National Weather Service meteorologists predicting a warming trend that will climb into the week. After record-breaking low temperatures throughout June and July, summer might finally be heating up.

Tuesday is expected to see a range of highs from the upper 60s to the lower 70s near the coast and bays to the mid-80s and lower 90s farther inland, meteorologist Rick Canepa said in the weather service’s Bay Area office forecast discussion. He noted that the warmest interior locations could reach as high as 100 to 102 degrees.

The agency said the region faces a moderate heat risk from Thursday through Saturday, with interior temperatures expected to climb into the 90s and low 100s.
