Santa Cruz Supervisors Consider Allowing Destruction of Abandoned Vehicles

The Santa cruz county board of supervisors are discussing allowing the destruction of homeless rvs and abandoned or illegally parked vehicles at their meeting on Tuesday, August 19th.

City staff says that abandoned oversized vehicles have become a problem in the county, with some vehicles being cited more than 120 times while staying stationary. Current law requires tow companies to stow vehicles for a number of days, which leads all the tow companies in the county to deny tow requests from the county…
