California Bus Driver Slashed Multiple Times By Passenger With Large Knife

A California man is facing charges for allegedly slashing a bus driver with a large knife during rush hour Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a report assault on a VTA bus at Blossom Hill Road and Hillview Avenue in San Jose shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday. They arrived to find the bus operator had been slashed multiple times by a passenger.

Investigators say the suspect, 23-year-old Darrian Lewis, “repeatedly” pulled the stop request cord, and when the driver confronted him, he allegedly “became aggressive.” Lewis allegedly produced a “large knife” and slashed the driver multiple times before fleeing the scene…
