Rep. Mike Levin urges governor to eliminate military retirement tax

Rep. Mike Levin is asking Gov. Gavin Newsom to eliminate all state income taxes on military retirement pensions.

The California Democratic’s letter to the governor, which he sent Monday, comes just two months after California enacted a new provision in its 2025-2026 budget that allows military retirees to exclude up to $20,000 of their benefits from state income taxes.
