LOS GATOS, CA — “On August 28, 2025 at about 8:10am, Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department Officers responded to a report of a physical altercation on Los Gatos Blvd in the vicinity of Louise Van Meter Elementary School. Upon arrival, it was learned a community member had been in an altercation with an individual reported to have been filming juveniles with his phone.
The suspect, 63-year-old Los Gatos resident John Alan Hale, was taken into custody on charges related to annoying and harassing minors and battery. In addition, the investigation revealed that Hale had attempted to temporarily restrain a juvenile in the course of his actions and therefore he is being charged with attempted kidnapping.
