Parts of Santa Clara and Sunnyvale will be sprayed with pesticide early Wednesday morning to target an invasive mosquito species found there, according to the Santa Clara County Mosquito and Vector Control District.
Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which are known to spread diseases like Zika, were originally detected in the area last year and have been found again this year, prompting the planning of pesticide treatment, the district said.
