Tragedy unfolded on the 280 freeway as a motorcycle crash claimed the life of a rider yesterday, authorities say. In a statement provided by CHP Redwood City, the accident occurred on the southbound I-280, above Page Mill Road in Santa Clara County, around 5 PM. The collision involved a 2013 Ducati motorcycle, which reportedly was lane-splitting at high speeds before hitting the rear of another vehicle in the #1 lane.
The impact sent the motorcyclist onto the road surface, where he appeared to have been struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck, the driver of which stayed at the crash site to cooperate with officials.
