(KRON) — A man allegedly tied to two violent assaults that occurred at Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light rail stations in San Jose in late September has been arrested for attempted murder, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday. The victim of one of the assaults remains in critical condition.
Brandon Fryshaw, 23, was taken into custody shortly after sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported fight at the Gish VTA Light Rail Station just before midnight Monday. Arriving deputies found a 42-year-old man who had major head injuries after having been severely beaten. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition as of Wednesday.

Detectives following leads in the Gish VTA assault were able to identify Fryshaw as the suspect “within hours of the incident,” the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators believe Fryshaw may be connected to a separate assault of an unhoused person that occurred in late September at the Saint James VTA Light Rail Station. No arrest or charges have been announced in that case…
