San Jose, CA – Milpitas Police have announced the arrest of 68-year-old Dr. Sanjay Agarwal, a San Jose-based pulmonologist, following allegations that he assaulted a female patient during a consultation. The arrest was first reported by the Times of India and confirmed through an official police statement.

Sexual Battery Allegation Reported in Mid-September

Authorities stated that on September 16, 2025, a sexual battery complaint was filed with the Milpitas Police Department. Investigators allege that Dr. Agarwal inappropriately touched a patient during a medical consultation. Detectives from the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau reviewed the evidence and conducted interviews before moving forward with the arrest.

Doctor Arrested at Milpitas Sleep Center

According to investigators, Dr. Agarwal was taken into custody on September 24, 2025, at his Milpitas office, where he manages a local sleep center. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on a charge of sexual battery. Dr. Agarwal is also affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose.
