(KRON) — A bicyclist who was struck by a car in Palo Alto more than a week ago succumbed to his injuries Wednesday, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.
The bicyclist, a man in his eighties, was riding in the 3400 block of Foothill Expressway on Oct. 4 at 12:18 p.m. when the crash occurred. Investigators said he was traveling southbound in the dedicated bike lane before entering lanes of southbound vehicle traffic and was struck by a 2022 Mercedes-Benz sedan.

Despite wearing a helmet, the bicyclist suffered a major head injury in the crash, police said.
The car’s driver, a person in their nineties, remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation, according to Palo Alto PD. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision…
