Officers recovered stolen mail, counterfeit identification cards and U.S. passports during a vehicle stop, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Officers stopped the vehicle Thursday in South San Jose in connection with an investigation of a mail theft ring, police said. While speaking with the driver and his passenger, they saw on the floorboard a meth pipe and identification cards that did not belong to either man, police said.
During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers found large quantities of stolen mail, counterfeit IDs, Social Security cards and U.S. passports, police said. They also seized equipment used to manufacture the fraudulent documents, as well as meth pipes, police said…
