Broadcom is cutting nearly 250 jobs in Palo Alto just days after revealing a high-profile partnership with OpenAI to build custom artificial intelligence chips.
According to a notice filed with California’s Employment Development Department last week, the $1.65 trillion semiconductor company plans to permanently lay off 247 employees at its Hillview Avenue offices in Santa Clara County, effective Dec. 19.
