Hayward Reaffirms Policies: Local Employees and Police Do Not Enforce Federal Immigration Laws

The City of Hayward in the San Francisco Bay Area has restated its policies on federal immigration law enforcement. This comes after reports of increased U.S. Customs and Border Patrol activity in the area. City officials state that Hayward employees and police officers do not ask about or record the immigration status of people they serve. They also do not take part in federal immigration enforcement actions.
