Photos released of suspects tied to bronze statue theft at SJ Veterans Memorial Park

(KRON) — San Jose police released photos Wednesday of the brazen suspects whom they believe cut down a statue from Veterans Memorial Park last month and walked away with it in broad daylight.

The theft of a bronze “Momotaro” statue happened on Sept. 25 at 7:08 a.m. The statue of the Japanese folklore hero was a gift from San Jose’s sister city in Okayama, Japan, 30 years ago.
