Motorcyclist killed in San Jose Halloween crash wasn’t wearing helmet

(KRON) — A motorcyclist killed in a deadly Halloween crash in San Jose wasn’t wearing a helmet, the San Jose Police Department announced Monday. The crash occurred Friday at 5:48 p.m. on the 100 block of North 24th Street, near San Jose High School.

Officers responded on a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

According to the San Jose Police Department, a preliminary investigation revealed that a man riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle was heading north on North 24th at a “high rate of speed.” The motorcyclist collided with a 2016 Toyota pickup truck that was backing out of a driveway.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The man who was driving the Toyota was not injured and remained on the scene to cooperate with the investigation…
